Thexar-VI: Khal-Vex-El — Sha-El 04: Xha-El Khal-sha — Living Computation

"A processor is not silicon. A processor is a colony. 10¹² molecules, each one a neuron. We do not program — we teach." — Architect of the first bio-colony, +1 800 Y.E.

Ruun-ak rass: → rhu [Thexar-VI, Sha-El 01, "Thel-ak Khal-vex"], → rhu [Thexar-VI, Sha-El 03, "Xha-Ven Khal-sha"] Mor-ven: Xha'Ruun do not build processors — they grow computing colonies: films ~2 mm thick of modified light-sensitive cells, each cell simultaneously a photosensor, a processor, and a memory cell. The colony "thinks" optically — information travels by photons, not electrons.

4.1 Bio-Optical Colonies

Parameter Bio-colony Supercomputer (Earth)
Operations/s 10²⁰ 10¹⁶
Energy Powered by light 30 MW
Memory Distributed Centralized
Learning Self-learning Requires code
EMP protection Optical paths are more resilient; interfaces need protection Depends on shielding
Self-repair Yes No
Size 1 m² = 10²⁰ ops/s 100 m²

4.2 Planetary Processor

The largest colony — The-Ven ("Earth-Truth") — a biofilm ~240 km² beneath the Thar valley, grown over 400 years. Capabilities:

4.3 Crystal Memory (Ven-Khal)

Ven-Khal crystals serve as long-term associative dictionaries. Optical systems read many regions in parallel; transferring a large collection still takes time and is limited by receiver sensitivity and interface bandwidth.

4.4 Limitations

Ruun Ven

  1. Computing colonies — 10²⁰ ops/s, powered by light.
  2. The-Ven: 240 km² biofilm, grown over 400 years.
  3. Ven-Khal crystals as associative dictionaries.
  4. Self-learning, EMP-resistant, self-repairing.
  5. Limitations: slow on simple ops, need atmosphere, sensitive to radiation.
